Jimmy Carter Has Cancer

Jimmy Carter - 39th President of The United States
Jimmy Carter – 39th President of The United States

I have never been a fan of Jimmy Carter. First, his politics have never been acceptable to me. Secondly, his administration was one of the worst in history up to that time. Thirdly, Jimmy Carter always seemed to favor the Arabs against Israel. Some of his statements seemed to lean towards anti-Semitism.

However, there is no way I would wish such an illness on anyone. Even though a terrible politician, and a terrible President, Jimmy Carter is famously a man who takes compassion on others. Remember Habitat For Humanity? Jimmy Carter and his wife, Rosalynn, did not found the charity, but they were involved very early.

Even with his faults, Jimmy is one of God’s children, just like the rest of us. Let us pray that President Carter does not have to live his last days in pain. Let us pray for the salvation of our country.

  1. I agree with you 100%. I don’t like much of what he’s done in his life but he does have a huge heart for those who need help and puts his money (and that of his contributors!!) where his mouth is. He is planning a trip to Nepal, I believe it is, in November as planned if all goes well…he never stops!
I watched his news conference yesterday and found him courageous and optimistic and I so admire that. I hope God lets him stay pain free and, when the time comes (and it looks like it’s probably not long away), he goes quietly and peacefully…

Off Topic, and probably a lot inappropriate after our comments about the impending death of Carter, I just had to say again that your comment “err…hose ’em down” on my post on nude girls with painted on bathing suits still makes me laugh!!!

  2. Z: Jimmy Carter is one of those people with unbelievably wrong views. He is a Christian, and a Democrat. Sometimes I think that’s a mutually exclusive pair of beliefs. But, what do I know. The man was tone deaf and blind when it came to foreign relations, and totally ignorant economically. Other than that I think he is a great man. Remember the Camp David accords?
