Do Science And Religion Mix? 12

Charmed-dia-wThere are lots of people on both sides of this issue that will tell you that science and religion do not mix. Evolution is the hot button for many, and there has sprung up a counter idea called Creationism. I am not sure what it is about Creationism that appeals to people, but since it supposedly challenges evolutionary theories, lots of people will string along.

Notice that I said that I really don’t know about Creationism. Well, I really am not deeply conversant with evolutionary theory, either. I will say that I am a Christian, and I am also a person with a scientific view of the world. This is not a contradiction

Let me quote someone from the religion side of things:

“I don’t think that there’s any conflict at all between science today and the Scriptures. I think we have misinterpreted the Scriptures many times and we’ve tried to make the Scriptures say things that they weren’t meant to say, and I think we have made a mistake by thinking the Bible is a scientific book. The Bible is not a book of science.” — Rev. Billy Graham

Some evolutionary enthusiasts may say that Billy Graham was dodging the issue. Certainly, the first chapter of Genesis explains in detail how God created the world. Isn’t the Genesis version of creation a fairy tale? How do you explain the second creation story in Genesis? Why are they in conflict as suggested by Carl Sagan in his book, “Contact”?

I have never considered the Genesis 1:1 account as a literal description, even when I first read it when I was elementary school age. Read it yourselves. It is a beautiful story, poetic, and satisfying for someone trying to tell the story. The second story reverses part of the time line, but it starts a different part of the story. Carl Sagan was simply misguided, and not knowledgeable about the Scriptures, or how a stone age culture would tell a story. The writers of Genesis simply did their best to explain how God did what He did.

Evolutionary theory partly says that humans are descended from apes. Now, my wife will take exception to that, but will somewhat agree that I may be a bit ape like. Ah, the vicissitudes of life and marriage. For millions of people, the fossil record upon which the evolutionists depended was not satisfactory at all. Indeed, the record jumps around all over the place, and it makes you wonder why scientific people were making the assumptions they were. But, that is not the whole story.

It is easy to visualize evolution as a viable way for creation to have happened. Even now, there is substantial debate as to whether evolution can be correct. Enter the science of genetics.

Genetics ruins it all for Creationists. The Creationists who insist on some alternative way people evolved, or worse yet, appeared on earth as functioning, modern adults, have to wake up and take stock. Genetics is not a assumption like the fossil record. Genetics is legitimate science.

Live with it, folks. It certainly looks like some form of evolution has been at work for a very long time. There a lot of questions to be answered, but the truth will be made clear, eventually.

As a Christian I have no problem with genetics, or the idea of an evolutionary process in human development. However, I do not believe in random.

Random is just another word for uncertainty. I cannot buy the idea of a magical, random march of quarks, protons, electrons, and other esoteric particles in the origin of life, and the progression of mankind. I believe in a causal world. For every action there is a cause, and we have not ascertained the cause of every action, much less understand the cause of life,

So, Christians let science do what science does. I don’t think there are any conflicts.

Scientists, let it go about criticizing religion. After all, we are seeing new religions spring up, one of them being that of Science itself. Be careful about what you worship.

Our Populous America, Today 10

Donald Trump

Donald Trump

Populism is a political ideology. It can be used for left wing politicians to rally popular opinion against rich people, the banks, and anybody making more than minimum wage.

Populism is also used by political right wing politicians to rally popular opinion against the socialists, communists, and corrupt Democrat politicians.

One of the early populists in American Presidential Politics was Andrew Jackson, the seventh President of The United States. Jackson was also the first Democrat in the office. He campaigned against the national bank, and anything to do with the American Indian. He hated Indians and the British.

His popularity was based on his military performance during the War of 1812 where he slaughtered a tribe of Creek Indians at the Battle of Horseshoe Bend, and at the Battle of New Orleans where Jackson ended the British threat to the USA.

After being elected, he forced the national bank to close because Jackson had a personal beef with the director of the bank. Then, Jackson created the Trail of Tears, forcing Indians in Tennessee, Georgia, and other areas into the bleak wilds of Oklahoma. Jackson was anything but brilliant, and his administration was an economic disaster complete with economic depression, and the states printing their own currency.

Populism is what you want it to be. To be a populist, all you have to do is come up with a laundry list of things that people are against, and another list of things that people are for. These things do not have to be real, or even make sense. You can be against a “gap in income” just to advocate a failed nineteenth century ideology called, socialism. New word, same old BS.

So, in this election we have HIllary Clinton and Bernie Sanders trying fake definitions to push abortions, communism, and outright theft of peoples money. On the political right, we have lots of standard candidates, but the most popular is Donald Trump that is harnessing populism. Donald is tapping into the sore points of illegal immigration, outrageous taxes, socialized health care, the stupid Obama Iran deal, and anything else Obama tried to do. You can take it for granted that anything Obama advocated is stupid.

Plus, Trump is taking a page from Barack Obama and is using playground, in-your-face, bad-boy tactics on the campaign trail. He constantly disses Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio, and anybody else mentioned as being competition. He needs no reason, he just does it. And, he gets away with it, too. The crowds love him.

The nation is so hungry for real leadership that we are in danger of putting the wrong person into office. If Donald Trump is the Republican candidate, I will vote for him. If he is not I pray that he will not run as an independent. I really hope he is better than I think.

Potential Trump Voter

I managed to catch the last few minutes of Donald Trump’s address at Mobile, Alabama. I don’t know how many people were there, but they did number into the thousands.

Maybe it was good that I only caught the last of his speech. I don’t think I missed anything at all. Let me see if I can remember what Trump said.

  • Obama Care – Repeal it. He will get rid of the restricted state by state rules. The Insurance companies make too much money through Obama Care. Trump will make health care so much better.
  • Illegal Immigration – Trump will make Mexico pay for the wall. No more anchor baby stuff. Things will be so much better.
  • ISIS  – Trump will get rid of ISIS. Things will be so much better.
  • Foreign Relations – Trump will make people love us. You will be so proud of your President. You will love him. Things will be so much better.

There is no question that I missed a few of Trump’s points. I’ll bet they all ended with the predictable, “Things will be so much better.” One thing is also sure, that Donald Trump used the singular personal pronoun “I” more times than any Presidential candidate in history, with the possible exception of Barack Obama.

I can’t wait until the pundits jump in with their word counters, and accurate observations that Trump really didn’t have anthing to say.

What do you think?

Jimmy Carter Has Cancer 2

Jimmy Carter - 39th President of The United States

Jimmy Carter – 39th President of The United States

I have never been a fan of Jimmy Carter. First, his politics have never been acceptable to me. Secondly, his administration was one of the worst in history up to that time. Thirdly, Jimmy Carter always seemed to favor the Arabs against Israel. Some of his statements seemed to lean towards anti-Semitism.

However, there is no way I would wish such an illness on anyone. Even though a terrible politician, and a terrible President, Jimmy Carter is famously a man who takes compassion on others. Remember Habitat For Humanity? Jimmy Carter and his wife, Rosalynn, did not found the charity, but they were involved very early.

Even with his faults, Jimmy is one of God’s children, just like the rest of us. Let us pray that President Carter does not have to live his last days in pain. Let us pray for the salvation of our country.

The Obama Bomb – It Just Doesn’t Get Any Better 6

The whole Barack Obama legacy act just gets better and better every day. Barack Baby says that it is his way, or war. What a bunch of bull that is. If we had wanted to go to war with Iran, we would have done it after we pacified Iraq.

No. There are always other options, and the Obama story is structured to fool people into thinking that Barack Baby has done the impossible. He wants people to think that he has done the only thing that will avoid war. What a load of crap, and the American people do not believe him.

What is is about Democrats that they think they can fool all the people all the time. The truth is, and they know it, is that they can only fool those shallow thinking people called Democrats. That’s an amazing story in itself.

The Iranian Mullahs have totally controlled the negotiations and have agreed only to provisions that give them their frozen bank accounts, and does not permit free and spontaneous nuclear facility inspections. Obama didn’t even try to get the American hostages out. He didn’t want this kind of interference to his “legacy”.

Because of what’s he has done, Barack Obama has given, with his blessing, the nuclear bomb to Iran. It may not happen next year, and it may not happen for five years. But the Iranians will soon have the object of their most concerted efforts. They will have The Bomb.

This is not any bomb, it is the Obama Bomb. We have given the Iranians the means for our destruction, and have asked for nothing in return.

In the mean time Barack Obama is being aided and abetted by recalcitrant Demcrats who are afraid to stray from the empty suited Harry Reid and other less than stellar Congressional lemmings.

May God have mercy on our souls.

She Didn’t Have Classified Text With That Server 5

I know this is a dumb title, but I also think that it draws attention to Hillary Clinton’s modus operandus as a politician, and exposes her to be as false and crooked as her husband, former President of The United States, Bill Clinton.

Bill famously said, “I did not have sexual relations with that woman!”

HIllary basically said, ” I did not have classified material on my mail server!”.

When you break it all down, you can see that Hillary gets solid advice from hubby, Bill. I have a little saying that pretty much sums up the Clinton relationship. When you see a married couple, and one of them you absolutely know to be dishonest or unfaithful, you can pretty well bet the spouse is of the same ilk.

My saying is, “It takes two to tangle.”  That means that for any given situation with a couple, they have similar values and individually they can be expected to exhibit similar morals and principles when in stressful situations. In other words Hillary and Bill are just alike. Both are amoral, and both are serial liars. It’s that simple.

So, what does this mean for HIllary Clinton’s Presidential campaign? I am not sure. It depends on the Obama administration doing its job and investigating Hillary’s serious breach of secrecy laws. Not only was classified material on her personal email server, the email server was not in a protected environment as the law requires.

Yet, like her infamous husband’s example, Hillary lies and lies and lies. She will never admit wrong, and thinks she is in control of the information available to the public. That’s the reason she used a personal email server in the first place. She knew that she would be running for President, and the only way to keep her inside correspondence away from public Freedom Of Information Act probes was to get rid of the potentially offending emails. That is why she had her own email server, and that is why she had it wiped before surrendering it to the FBI.

Hillary is transparent. She is crooked. What will it take for the government to do its job and put the woman in jail?
